I spent the weekend working on the panel... I bought Van's map
box, but decided that I didn't like the location the plans called for,
and because of the location of my fuse blocks, I was forced to modify it
to fit... |

I ended up cutting almost 2" off of the front of the box, then
used the stiffeners that came with the kit to make new flanges for
mounting the box to the panel... |

This allowed me to put the box on the bottom of the panel and still
clear the F-802V upper brace... I will make a bracket or two form
the back of the box to the F-802V for support... At right you can
see the hole saws I used to cut my instrument holes... |

Here is the panel with some of the instrument holes cut... At
right you can see how I made a slot on the bottom of the map box door to
allow the door to open... |

A word of advice; If you don't HAVE to modify something, DON'T!
It took me about 10 hours to get the damn map box modified and
installed, and it still didn't turn out as nice as I would have hoped... |

Tach, MAP, Dual EGT, Dual CHT, Fuel Press, Oil Press, Oil Temp, OAT,
Volts, Hour meter, Flight Timer, and fuel level for one tank at a
