Here are the parts for one of the rear wing spars... |
Here I have drilled and clecoed one of the rear spars... |
Completed rear spar... You have to be careful not to rivet in
places where ribs, aileron mounts, flap braces, or aileron gap seals will be mounted
later... |
Here are all the ribs deburred, fluted, and primered... |
Rear of the right main spar, inboard... |
Rear of the right main spar, outboard... |
front of the right main spar, inboard... |
I got the wing tie downs done... |
I temporarily mounted the aileron belcranks. I have a friend
with a machine shop that is going to ream out the brass bushings for mounting the
belcranks... |
Trailing edge ribs drilled and clecoed to main spar. Left
wing... |
Left wing skeleton drilled and clecoed, I also got the leading edge
ribs drilled and clecoed, but did not get a picture yet... |
Once I had the pitot tube located in the spar, I was able to
determine the location where the holes in the ribs needed to be to route the pitot line... |
I used a block of wood as a jig to locate a small hole... |
Then I used a Uni-Bit to drill the hole to proper size... |
I turned the rib over and used the bit to debur the back side... |
Here are both wings in the jigs... |
Left outboard main wing skin going on... |
Top main skins drilled, test fitting the leading edge. |
I got some all thread to hold the ribs in place while I drill
them... |
