Starting on the left tank, I am using shims to center the tank
mount z-brackets... |
I used clecoes and bolts to hold the nutplates in place while riveting to ensure
alignment... |
All the z-brackets with platenuts installed, and mounted to the spar... |
Inboard z-bracket platenuts are mounted to the spar... |
The rest are mounted to the z-brackets... |
I marked and drilled one rib for drilling, and then used it as a template for the
others... |
Ribs, baffle, and z-bracket drilled and clecoed in place... |
Inboard tank rib access hole cut and stiffener drilled and clecoed in place... |
I started drilling the left wing tank skin to the skeleton... |
The tank skin overlapped the leading edge skin by about 1/32". I used my
Avery edge deburring tool to slowly shave material until I had a perfect fit... |
Started making the T-405 tank attach angles... Also cleaned up the
pre-cut T-410 nose reinf. plates... |
Right T-405 tank attach plate... |
I used the same all thread to do the tanks as I did the leading edge... |
Top tank skin drilled in place... |
I used straps to pull the bottom skin down to the main skin. I t
didn't end up straight all the way across the bottom. Hmmm...
I guess I have a slight sag in the wing... I will just trim off the
excess during the final fit... |
almost looks like a complete wing... |
I drilled the cap on the left wing... |
Drilled the drain on the left wing... |
Tank stiffeners made & ready to drill... |
Tank in the jig after deburring and dimpling... |
