Paint Stuff

I am getting everything lined up to paint my airplane and am looking into paint schemes again...

There may be some subtle changes, but this is it...     Here are some more drawings that led up to this one

Due to the high number of "how can I do that too?" e-mails I have received, I have put all my "cleaned up" 3-view drawings up here for you to download...

To do the painting I use Paint Shop Pro.  I have an older version, but it works great.  You can buy the newest version HERE.  Or you can get Paint Shop Pro 4 - It's an older trial version, but it's good, and it never expires...  HAVE FUN!!!

I have made modifications to some of the 3 view drawings, more for the -8,
but some for the others...  You can now download 3 views with the new sheared wing tips, and you can get the -8's with no seams...

I am using Sherwin Williams 988 self etching primer on non-alclad & mating surfaces only.  I am not priming the interior of the fuselage...

For the interior of the fuselage and cockpit, I got a great idea form Ken Balch.  I wanted to match the powder coated parts, but I wanted a simple solution.  Ken told me he bought some Air Dry Acrylic Enamel from Cardinal Industrial Finishes, these are the guys that supply the powder coat to Van's.  Here's what I ordered from Cardinal (directly):  A-4108-GR230.  I got twelve cans at $4.80 per can. It's a custom order and I think they told me 8 cans is the minimum order size. Cardinal's number is: 323-283-9335.
