Len Leggette, RV8A builder, stopped by while he was in town and helped
me get the sub floor riveted on... |
Cooling ramp ready for final riveting... |
Now I can starting the main gear leg weldment installation... |
Left main gear weldment is in. This took some work to get the
bottom skin hole right, and the weldment to bolt in there, but it
finally fit like a glove! |
I am amazed at how well the gear leg fits into the weldment, just
barley slid in there, and not a lick of play! |
Both main gear weldments installed... |
I will not be leaving the gear legs on for long, it sits too high, I
think, to work in side the fuse... |
I decided I needed to do some painting on the inside of the fuse
before I permanently installed the main landing gear weldments. So
I removed them, put a couple coats down, and re-installed them... |
Take a look HERE to see what type of
paint I am using for the inside of the fuse... |
I think it turned out really good! Once I turn it back over, i
will probably shoot one more coat to cover anything I may have
missed... More pictures to come... |
