Elevator belcrank parts at left. You have to make the angle
pieces, and drill and rivet the bearing to the belcrank halves...
Getting ready to rivet the angles into the fuse at right... |
The rear baggage compartment drilled and nutplates installed.
These pictures show it all clecoed in temporarily... |
I finally got to put the rudder pedals together...
This thing is really starting to look and feel like an airplane!!
It's very exciting! |
I got the left throttle quad console built and installed, and the left
& right lower consoles built and mostly installed. I am going
to install Van's fuel gauges in the left console... |
I bought a couple holes saws locally, a 2 1/4" and a 3
1/8". I used the 2 1/4" to cut the holes for the fuel
gauges. They ended up fitting real good... |
I found some cool aluminum screws in one of the bags and tried them
out on the fuel gauges, I need to get me some more of these for the
panel... |
I started working on installing the front throttle quad, and the rear
seat throttle kit. I had heard you needed the 3 lever quad in the
front in order to use the rear seat throttle, but I have devised a way
to work it with the 2 lever quad. |
Here's the throttle quad and console together. I had to cut a
notch in the console for the rod to pass through on it's way to the back
seat... |
Because I am using the 2 lever quad instead of the 3 lever, I had to
put a joggle in the rod so it would pass through the 804C bulkheads
outboard of the 804N caps. |
Once I had the front and rear quads in place, I used a long straight
edge and a market to mark where the rod should go. I used a
Uni-bit to drill the holes... |
You also have to cut a slot in the 806B armrest for the rear throttle
arm to pass through. There are also some nylon strips riveted to
it to provide guides for the arm... |
