Pretty straight forward, although there are quite a few more pieces
that need to go on for the forward baggage door... Panel mockup at
right...
Once I decided to get another F-899 baggage area wall and install it,
it meant removing the fresh air vent from where I originally had it [picpic], but I think the new location will be
fine...
Turtle deck is drilled an clecoed to the bulkheads and the alignment
holes in the fuse. Will finish the drilling during the next
building session...
Since I put the tail's side skins on inside out, the flanges for the
elevator control horn inspection holes were offset the wrong way.
After putting it off for as long as I could, I decided to just cut the
old flange off and make new ones.
Since I got the elevator control horn inspection covers done, I could finally
rivet the F-819 aft deck in place...
It really wasn't that difficult. I guess the poor non
pre-punched RV builder have to make their own anyway... In the end
it turned out pretty good...
F-854's riveted in place... When drilling these,
move then inward as much as you can to afford more room to buck.
Remember you have weldments and rivets under there already that will get
in the way.
I finally got the front seatback weldment in
place... It was too narrow to fit my fuse, so I had to shim
it... Little did I know there would be more problems if I
shimmed... I had to trim the F-816 top rails when installing them,
and make custom F-856's to go under the rails... Rear seat map
lights will be installed on both sides as well...
Left is a picture of the front seat left side map light. There will be
another on the right as well...
