I ended up getting the Comant CI 122 Comm antenna, and a TED 104-12
xpndr antenna... I mounted the Comm antenna just aft of the center
section and just left of the control column. I used a .032 doubler
to strengthen the skin where the antenna mounted... |

I mounted the xpndr antenna just aft of the F-808 bulkhead (aft of the
baggage compartment), again I made an .032 doubler plate to mount the
antenna to... |

I went to Home Depot and got a lock mechanism for the baggage door and
did the final fitting of the door... All in all, it fits really
well... |

I got as far as making the F-873M latch blocks when in
trying to taper the hole in one of them the drill bit caught and drilled
the hole out to a full 1/2" ruining it. So I will need to buy
a new one, or maybe I will make them out of something else, like wood, I
am not sure yet... |

I get this idea from
Randy
Lervold, it's a $2 door prop from Home Depot. The upper end is
blind riveted into the door and the bottom pivots on a temporary bolt
right now, but will be replaced with the bolt that will probably also be
used to hold the voltage regulator. With the center locking detent
this thing works great! If you try it for your plane be careful of
the geometry. It is possible to locate in a way that will prevent the
baggage door from closing. |
