finish86.jpg (72924 bytes) I ended up getting the Comant CI 122 Comm antenna, and a TED 104-12 xpndr antenna...  I mounted the Comm antenna just aft of the center section and just left of the control column.  I used a .032 doubler to strengthen the skin where the antenna mounted...  finish89.jpg (74745 bytes)
finish90.jpg (100501 bytes) I mounted the xpndr antenna just aft of the F-808 bulkhead (aft of the baggage compartment), again I made an .032 doubler plate to mount the antenna to... finish91.jpg (66751 bytes)
finish87.jpg (100236 bytes) I went to Home Depot and got a lock mechanism for the baggage door and did the final fitting of the door...  All in all, it fits really well... finish96.jpg (81543 bytes)
finish95.jpg (81089 bytes) I got as far as making the F-873M latch blocks when in trying to taper the hole in one of them the drill bit caught and drilled the hole out to a full 1/2" ruining it.  So I will need to buy a new one, or maybe I will make them out of something else, like wood, I am not sure yet... finish88.jpg (92529 bytes)
finish93.jpg (77853 bytes) I get this idea from Randy Lervold, it's a $2 door prop from Home Depot.  The upper end is blind riveted into the door and the bottom pivots on a temporary bolt right now, but will be replaced with the bolt that will probably also be used to hold the voltage regulator.  With the center locking detent this thing works great!  If you try it for your plane be careful of the geometry. It is possible to locate in a way that will prevent the baggage door from closing. finish94.jpg (96426 bytes)
I finally got the rear seat back completed...

At right and below you can see pix of 8VD in her now home at Meadow Lake airport - 00V - in Colorado.

This is the wing cart I made...  I used old jig materials and the wing jig brackets I used when building the wings...
You can see size of the hanger at right.  Currently there are two RV-8's. a 175, a 182, a Cub, and a Fairchild project in there...
We also have an workshop, office complete with all you would ever need, heat, and a bathroom...
At right you can see the front of Lee Lesher's RV-8 under construction...
More pix of Lee's RV-8...
