Since I have a Garmin Pilot III in the front now I
decided to mount my Magellan in the back for the PAX... I used the
holder part RAM mount I had originally bought and an ADEL clamp to mount
it to the front seat back weldment... |
I used the rest of the RAM mount to install a chart
board... I used countersunk screws and lock nuts to attach it to the
board... |
And then I simply used one of the panel mount screws to
attach the other end to the panel... The board will stow away under
the panel when not in use... |
In these pictures you can also see how the stick is cut down to miss the
bottom of the panel... |
Here is the mirror I bought at Part America... I made a curved round
piece of AL and drilled a hole in the middle for the suction cup mount to
come through... |
Then I drill two holes on the top and bottom of the AL
pop rivets, then match drilled it to the roll over bar... |
The mirror will swivel all round so the
visibility is great, and it doesn't get in the way of the canopy... |
I installed some rudder return springs... This
really helps during taxi to keep from over controlling, and it also helps
some to dampen the tail wag in turbulence... I am even thinking of
getting some stronger ones... |
